We strongly believe that people should own, design and implement their individual and collective pathways out of deprivations. Community institutions, thus, are an important vehicle not only to channelize the inherent strength & dynamism of the communities in effective implementation but also to make sure its sustainability.
Over the year, CSPC has promoted 10 Farmer Producer Companies with membership base of more than 10,000 farmers. These FPOs provide both input and output as well as advisory services. We have also organised about 66,000 farmers in more than 2200 hundred farmers group. To promote sustainable practices in agriculture, we have also helped organise more than 2000 farmer progressive farmers in Gram Abhiman farmer groups. These farmers are early innovators who adopt innovative practices and help in their diffusion. We have also supported formation of 119 Water user groups who regulate and maintain common agricultural structures.
To promote safe Menstruation Management, we have reached out to about 35,000 women and adolescent girls and they have been organised into 2690 groups. We have also promoted 196 Pani Samiti, who maintain their village drinking supply system and an independent third party evaluation informs that about 70% of them collect regular water tariff from users. We have also worked and strengthened 120 school Sanitation committees comprised of students of government schools, who maintain the school drinking water and sanitation systems and promote hygienic behaviour.
